Muscle Confusion

I saw some things on the movie 300 about how the actors trained to get into such great shape, and they apparently used muscle confusion techniques in their daily training. I looked it up and found this. The link is to a website offering such a workout, with a full money back guarantee no less. I'm thinking about getting it to be honest. What say ye, men (and women :P)? Yay, or nay? (To the technique, AND the product offered... and please specify which you refer to in your reply :P)

EDIT: click success stories on the right side and watch the video. It helps explain some things.

If you know enough variety of exercises and are a masochist enough to do it, you could come up with your own workout to emulate the same effect.

That aside, I'm sure it could teach you a lot of great exercises.

Or you could just hit the Gym Jones site (where the actors trained for '300'), check their daily schedule, and emulate what they do. Or go to Crossfit and do the same with the WoD (Workout of the Day).

Yep, that's what I was going to say, but Moonduck beat me to it!

One word of caution though, some of the workouts on both Gym Jones and Crossfit are VERY intense. Unless you are in great shape you may have to "scale down" a bit.

Hmm... I like the sounds of that, and will probably do them, but I'm also going to get the program. As far as I figure, why not? It's only $120 for 12 DVDs, (Worlds better than Furey can ever offer) and it'll probably teach me a bunch of useful exercises I otherwise wouldn't know, and can share with everyone here. And if it doesn't work, I can return it and warn everyone about it.

Hey, I just realized I saw the infomertial for that a while ago, one night when I couldn't sleep. Have to admit they made it sound good! Sure, try it out and let us know how it goes.

theres one hell of a 300 craze especially in fitness forums.
it has only gone out in Israel but the controversy with Iran and other things might make it a big hit here.

anyway , gymjones used workouts that by bodybuilding gurus would be called crazy and idiotic , they might be for the average joe with a job even with good genetics ( most of the men in 300 had very random genetics some good , some not so)
also the goal was to make them look like Hellenistic era warriors with a lil bit more meat on since they were spartans and spartans had more slaves then other greeks and devoted their life to training + birth selection.
they would do a better job in a bodybuilding type program but it wasn't their goal and they said it.

now , confusing your body in workouts , is not a big deal , just do complexes , with different tempos , presission work with dbs. EDT with various pairs , and change the program every week ,

but it has a drawback , you could end up using new excersises a lot and now knowing how to lift right so it limits your stimulus to hypotrophy.
you have to be in the structural adaptation phase , not the stress\shock phase.
