It's based on your contributions to the forum, things like helpful advice and such. If someone is interested they usually ask an existing moderator who brings it up with the admins and other mods, who talk it over and if the admin likes the idea he will PM the prospective moderator.

Yes, I'd like to know that, too. What does a moderator do on this site?

I am still new, but I can answer based on what I've seen the other Mods doing and what I've also been trying to do.
We breeze through the forums, make sure everyone is getting along; it's rare that anyone doesn't. Basically we try to put forth a positive environment for everyone to learn and improve in. Really it's you guys that make this so fun for us, I'm sure.
As for myself, I am also here to learn, and to share what I've learned. I am here to accomplish my goals, so I can set bigger ones, and help other accomplish theirs so they can do the same. Seeing everyone setting and meeting their goals and helping each other is what drives me and why BWC is so cool.

And what if somebody's not getting along? I've seen moderator's attack people personally. So, what do you guys moderate?

So, Mods, what does a Moderator do?
Monitor how people are getting along. Locate trolls and discuss whether they should be banned. Locate advertising spam and submit it for deletion.
But mostly point people in the right direction when they ask for training advice, or offer training advice ourselves (predominantly to beginners). This forum has a great atmosphere and personal attacks are rare. There haven't been that many trolls either. I hope it stays this way.

What is a troll ??
I only know of the living-under-a-bridge kind.

There is also the dwell-on-a-forum kind.
They are individuals who post inflammatory stuff on forums and discussion boards with the aim of stirring a reaction. Exactly why they do this is still unknown. Sociologists believe that this sort of antisocial behavior stems from (primarily) lack of social life and (secondarily) lack of basic intelligence, but more sinister forces may be at work here. Most of them are people who
Trolls should be ignored and/or banned. Responding to their posts is called "feeding the troll(s)" and only leads to a more pointless argument.

I don't know about you, but I have seen some hilarious threads in T-Nation forums. Sure they are ridiculous but it is just funny what people say on the internet. Point being people should take things so seriously, it kills humour.
