the article on this topic was very good, but it did not go into enough detail. i am a MAist and always looking for ways to improve. i would love to add more gymnastics in, but i have no balance and gymnastics does not come natural to me. it is frustrating and i give up quickly. how can i baby step my way into it? i cannot even do a cartwheel, and barely a hand stand. i do try to do some of the body weight lifting that they do, but i would really like to benefit by increasing my range of motion, coordination, and control of over my movements, which i have always found to be the greatest strength of gymnastics. what are some basic exercises that i can start with and how do i progress to more complicated ones.

My advice, join a gymnastic club. I went only once and I walked out able to do a back handspring.Mind you, I have been trying to teach myself for months and failed. Its amazing how fast you learn things when someone qualified is coaching you instead of teaching yourself. Good luck.
