Hi, i've been a member of bodyweightculture for some time now, I just haven't posted anything before. My question is has anyone heard of a man named John La Tourrette, who can supposedly punch 18.3 times in one second (sounds fishy), who is selling his "secrets" for a modest sum of almost $200? has anyone purchased this product and if so, could you divulge if his techniques are anything new, or just rehashed information from other sources. I would really hate to spend so much money on something I either already know, or could get for much cheaper.

The fastest guy I ever met could punch 7 times in a second, so 18 sounds fishy to me, too.
Don't know anything about his book, but my guess is: be born with the right genetics and work on building your fast twitch muscles.

I know a guy who bought it years ago. It's....deceptive I guess would be the way to put it. He uses a lot of "folding" type of techniques--instead of just striking with his fist, palm, elbow or whatever, he would do a fingertip strike, fold into a strike with the second knuckles (like a leapard fist strike), then continue to fold into a regular fist, then a back of the wrist strike, then a forearm strike, then an elbow strike, etc, all in one continuous movement and say he just struck someone with 6 strikes in .001 seconds or whatever. None of these strikes had enough power to dissuade a shy anorexic schoolgirl. It seemed pretty worthless to me.

See, the guy I met could have knocked me backwards with any one of the seven punches he threw (big, strong, very fast, very skilled).
I'd rather hit someone seven times and hurt them than eighteen times and amuse them.

I once bought it way back when and yes it is the same crap that is shown in allot of the Kenpo from Ed Parker Kenpo. They are just slapping using folding.
