Hello everyone,

My name is Tom and I have been practising Parkour and Methode Naturelle based conditioning and training for around 3 years now, I was reffered to this forum by Zezerith and by what I've seen there is a fountain of knowledge so I hope to gain alot from here.

I have been conditioning seriously for the past few months adding more and more bodyweight based exercises to my routine. At the moment though I think I am lagging with just 105 pushups in sets of 15, 200 situps in sets of 50 with alterations like turns every 10 reps, I also do resistance training like holding pushup positions and inclined handstands against a wall.

Below are some photo's and a video of me doing Parkour.

Thanks for the welcome.

I want to become strong, not only for myself but for others. To build myself into someone usefull that can be so in emergency situations. It's the escape, reach or rescue.

What song was that in your video? I don't listen to a lot of rap, but that kind is the type I like.

Awesome parkour moves man.

Wild stuff man. Never heard of Parkour before.

I bet in 5-10 years Parkour will replace skate boarding for young
people.

No doubt it takes great athleticism to do that stuff, I bet the injury rate for this art/sport/workout is pretty high.

Its funny to think about people still evolving by being able to move almost like a monkey.

Fascinating stuff. I want to see more.

The injury rate is actually quite low, lower than skateboarding infact.
The reason for this is that people who do parkour (and know what they're doing) develop their courage secondary to their physical abilitys, this means that before they jump something big they will jump something small hundreds of times to build up resistance and the ability to do the bigger things.

We start off slow with conditioning and work up from small precise jumps and vaults to more demanding movements like the big things. It took me 3 years to get here.

Their is a difference between risk and calculated risk, we won't do something if we are unsure we can do it or if we havent done something the same physicaly on lower ground.
