I've seen two article about shoulder troubles and they both came up with the same answers: Pullups and Pushups. Most people don't realize this but your skeleton has no interlocking connections. If your body was set up like this, you'd have severly limited flexibility. Instead, your skeleton floats and is held in place by the tension created by your muscles.
If your muscles pull more in one direction than the next, you'll have PAIN. Such is the trouble with all of the rotator cuff pain. The obsession with the bench press creates uneven tension in one direction on the shoulders. This problem is easily solved over time by evening out the tension in your upper body.
That's where the pullup in conjunction with the pushup comes into play. These two exercicses condition all of the body's agonist and antagonist muscles. A gentlemen in Men's Health pointed this out a few months ago.
I can certainly valitate this. I've always been a pushup/pullup fiend even when I wasn't a serious exerciser and I've NEVER had shoulder pain.

Why don't you start a new thread entitled "Hey StandApart!! I have a question!!" or something like that. He'll probably see it and answer, he comes to our forum fairly often.

I've never experienced shoulder pain while benching. One would have thought that pain was a good indicator to stop. Interesting read, nonetheless.
