Heyas, I'm EB. I'm a chemist from the pacific northwest, but not too great of of one, and even worse nutritionist, but good at sounding like I know what I'm talking about, so take anything I spout with a grain of salt.
I had back surgery three months ago, for a herniated disc. Just a microdisctomy, but at the same time, a NuCore implant was squirted in to replace the lost nucleus. http://www.spinewave.com/products/nucore.html It took two years of sciatica for me to break down, but let me tell you, if it's an option, the injectable implant is the way to go. I was up and walking as soon as the anestisia wore off, and haven't looked back since. I'm done freaking the physical therapist out, and looking to, well, look better naked, really. I'm in great shape, for a guy who was crippled for two years. 6 foot, 220 lbs. But now my health has been handed back to me, on a silver platter, I've decided to enjoy it.
I bicycle about an hour a day, commuting to and from work, but that's about it for exercise now. I'm trying out the Warrior's Diet, not really because I believe in "live" food diets, but because I read the damn thing, and was so curious, I simply had to experiment. (I work R&D, I'm a sucker for anything novel to me) Only been on a week so far, and unless I start getting fat, I'll probably keep it. It's amazing how much more alert you are on an almost-empty stomach. And I'm a sucker for huge meals.
Which brings me to this site--I was going to join the gym down the road, but now I've been tempted into a bodyweight only program. Experimentation is the path to knowledge. And awkward moments of trying to sneak the midget amputee puerto rican bus driver out past your roomies.
