I'm not surprised to see that. I took some instruction in Kali-Silat for a while. The Silat portion of it was freaking brutal. Then again the Kali stuff wasn't exactly friendly. Let's see, the Filipino arts are terrifyingly violent and the Malaysian arts are completely brutal, so let's blend them together and see what we get.

Silat = scary

I would SO fail those tests. "You want me to jump off what?!?"

I find it telling that the the guy that appears to be the instructor is walking with a cane :lol:

then again, this is Malaysia. He probably got his leg messed up in an actual knife fight with someone from a rival school. That "My school is better than your school!" thing is alive and well in Malaysia.

This post probably should be in the medical/injury section. :)

Right... How full of sh*t are they with the whole "Mental Conditioning" angle?

This creates an argument to ban American action films from Malaysia...

These guys are so tough they are conditioned to be lemmings.

Hello,

Yea it's a little extreme even for silat!

It's a test of will and belief in the instructor and the system.

Look at it this way if you can do those jumps who the hell are you going to be afraid of in a fight and you have probably conquered the fear of death issue as well.

Sincerely,
Teacher: Eddie Ivester
