I'm looking to build a wall-mounted pullup bar in my back garden. Anyone got any ideas on websites where I can find some instructions on how to make a very simple one? I have already checked gruntbrain's site.

first you can mount blast straps almost anywhere.

and there better then a pullup bar alone.

also gruntbrains (and shens) site is basically as easy as it comes.
I recommend using metal and wood instead of PVC though.

there are two options , a wall bar and a stand.

the stand (rotated 90 degrees) looks like this:
|/------|-
|
|\------|-

the \'s are supports like you see in bridges , it just makes your bar stronger and more durable. the |-'s are basically + shaped stands so it won't fall back.
have the stands height a little bit shorter then yours with your arms extended up.

option two if you can drill is a wall bar.
I don't know how to explain it , but you need more equipment to build it...
but it takes less time and space.
