Im making a home gym. I cant really afford to many things. Basicaly wht I have is a bar and some weights. the bar is basically a olympic bar, but doesnt weight as much. im sure it wont make a difference because ill jjust add weight. I also got 2 dumbell handles that you add weight to. im trying to get a dip bar and a pull up bar and I should be good. any recomendations for a cheap pull up bar and a dip bar? anythiing else I should get?

well, I don't know what you mean by "cheap", but I was at Dick's Sporting Goods a few weeks ago and almost bought (something like) this.

Listed at ~$80, again, I don't know if that's cheap for you or if you have access to buying one. While there, I also did a few pull-ups and such on the one that had, and it seemed sturdy enough, but I'm not sure that's the exact same one.

That Power Tower is pretty nice, but if money is tight you can do dips with 2 sturdy chairs. I bought a used door chinup/pullup bar quite a few years ago at a used sporting goods store for about $12, it's held up very well.

If you are going to do muscle-ups you really need to make some rings. I think Koltz wrote an article about homemade rings.

Google 'gruntbrain workshop' and you will find a better article.

hanging it is the major problem if you live in an apartment it's damm near impossible without messing stuff up.
outdoors you just find a tree or w\e
if you can't hang it you need to make some some stand for them
which IMO should be something like a powerrack , or a BWC multitrainer.

If you're on the East Coast and have a car, I've got a power tower I'll sell ya real cheap. Hell, I'd probably give it to you if you come pick it up. I'm in Virginia, near Virginia Beach. PM me if you want it.

It's in great shape. I just don't have the room for it now that I have a power rack.
