what can u use instead to do them. I dont have acess to a machine thing for them.

Hang off a table, desk, or bench while someone holds down your legs.
When you can do 12 reps or so, hold a light weight against your chest. Eventually you can work up to a 45# plate.

I tried doing them today, but dont you need something higher so you can go all the way down?
