I'm in college right now, and I'm starting to really think about what I want to do once I graduate (you know, to make money, cuz you can't be young and free forever  ). I've been into raw-foods before, and all the different diets, and have been into physical culture for some time...

So I already have an inherint interest and enjoyment of this fields. So, I was wondering:

What does it actually take to become a personal trainer? I've looked at the ACSM and ACE sites but they don't really explain it at all.

money and passing a written quiz , lol
there are many different certificate levels though , read up on it i wikipedia

I might get the paper so I have something to put up on the cover of a book I'm making ( about BWE mostly but about home training in general)

You'll probably do better as a trainer if you have a college degree in anatomy and physiology, or some sort of PT cert. What are you taking in college?

to become a successful personal trainer the BIGGEST thing is learn how to market yourself well. this means know who your clients are or will be and focus on selling you to them. you can get any cert and become a trainer and make a decent living. really successful requires you to be different.

That's true enough. You gotta be a salesman; your clients are not going to seek you out.
