I'm curious about the opinions of people here on the best way to develop strength, in particular, and size, as well as endurance, with a completely equipment-free bodyweight routine. I have absolutely no equipment, at all, of any sort, and no access to any. I'm looking for a total-body workout with martial arts in mind. Any ideas?

I say that you need to work with about 5 different types of skills.
One and My personal favorite is the handstand pushup. This can be quite difficult. This can progress into dipping between two chairs or somthing elevated. Only the strongest of the strong can do these.
Another skill is the one legged squat. Hold onto a basketball pole or side of a doorway lift one foot and squat your bodyweight.
A great favorite of mine is the pullup and chinup. I like pullups because it hits the huge muscle lats. Chinup hits lats and biceps hard as well.
Dips are in my mind superior to pushups. There is more resistance to them and are hard. You may want to include pushups you man not. It might help with punching but most martial abilty comes from internal arts so it may not.
Another tips I would say is listen to Koltx he is probably the most wise here on this forum and is very helpful.
Happy Training :D

You said you had no equiptment but to get a decent workout a bar might be neccesary. Use a tree limb, get creative but dont miss out on what chins and pulls have to offer!

Well, one thing I've seen done before is doing pullups on a doorframe. I wouldn't be able to do chins, but maybe I'll get an attachable bar if I can find a well-priced one.

Well i cant find it on the website, but check out walmart. I saw a chipup/pullup bar for $12 canadian. Basicly theres 2 pads on either end and you just tighten it so it presses into the door frame. If you put it at the bottom you can put your feet under it for sit ups and what not. Im sure you could improvise other excersizes with it, but ya. Good price, and gets the job done, check it out.

For dips you can buy two folding metal chairs. like ones schools set up for assemblies and such. place them apart keep a little balance and there is the dipping station. The chairs cost about 6 dollars a piece from wallmart.

that sounds like a good idea but unfortunatly if your like me that wont work too well. Im 6'2 and my legs are long lol id touch the ground :P Little too small, i use chairs that have high backs on them, but even they dont work too well. Might see if my uncle cant make me something, hes awsome with welding and stuff, might be able to whip something up.

I'm a similar height, kawana. What you might try doing is incorporating an L-Sit with your dips - as you dip, have your legs straight out in front of you as if you were sitting on a deck chair. This take the legs away from the ground, allowing you to dip, and also has the advantage of working the abdominals, which are necessary to hold the position.
