I know it sounds kinda stupid, but i dont know if im too old to start taking some kind of MMA. Im 19 now, but i hear people say you should start when your young. I dunno, probably sounds like a dumb question, but i kinda wanna know lol :P

This is not too old, that's why there is categories in martial art.
( like 10 years old to 18 )
you would be in the category ADULT

You can probably start thing is you would never reach as high as you could if you started at age 5 seriously. but for mma I bet you could at least compeate at a regional level or so after 10 or so years if you are good

It's never too late to benefit from good instruction. Koltz already made the obvious comment that you won't be able to reach the same level of potential as you would had you started earlier, but there's nothing particularly bad about starting when you did. I started later than that, and did just fine.

Hmm ok maybe ill give something a try once im not so busy. Just wondering a few things, what type of MMA would be best for ground fighting, as alot of fights end up on the ground but is also equally good while standing up.

There is no 'best'. There is only what works. What works is whatever art works for your bodytype and physical ability. Try a few on for size, and see what you like. And don't pick the first thing that comes along.

is there a crossfit where you live? they have a great site for bw workouts and from what i can see their gyms are some intense places to workout. I know the one here in NC has MT/BJJ class and they compete in mma events.

I recommend systema for self-defense. It doesn't come cheap though.
