Just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Jane. I am a personal trainer from CA. Wanted to say I love your site. I am a former competitve lightweight bodybuilder and after years of lifting in the gym it's refreshing to see some new ideas on a site that focusses on bodyweight training.
Just had to tell you that I have a 57yr old client who has started using some of the exercises from your site and he is kicking ass. He loves it. He can transfer the exercises to his home gym and to the gym he trains at on alternate days from our workouts together.
I'm pretty damn strong but am still working on my one arm pushups. Watch this space!

Thanks for the great site!

Hmm nah one arm pushups are really easy and bodybuilders are pretty strong also unlike planches your legs dont hinder your progress .
you should really improove your serength one arm pushups are like benching 120% your BW on a slightly narrow tucked grip or 60% with on arm but you also gotta stablize much harder.

anyway what are your stats\goals?

I competed in bodybuilding last in 2004 - and shortly afterwards got pregnant with the first of two kids (they are only 17mths apart) so I am working back into my strength training. I'm not as strong as I was. I used to be able to squat 305, bench 135, could do 15 pullups pretty easily. Pregnancy reaks havoc on even the fittest of women and recovery and return to pre-pregnancy conditioning is hard work. But the one arm pushups will come with time.

I incorportae a lot of bw exercises into my workouts both in the gym and out. Some include jumping squats, uphill jumping squats, plyo lunges, push-ups (one leg/with rear delt dumbell lifts/plyo push-ups/walkovers on step etc) jumping squat-pullup/sh press, jumprope, boxing, kickboxing tire drags and lots more. I mix things up a lot and I get fast results.

Right now I'm focussing on my running and am competing a lot. I prefer shorter, faster races but am doing a few half marathons beginning next weekend. I'm averaging a 7:52mile for the half marathon and on shorter 3-4mile runs I can handle a 6.40mile. I run a challenging 5mile run every week that has steep uphill and downhill stages doing speed drills and interval training and my strength and endurance has improved drastically. Hills are great! Not bad for being back in training for less than 6mths.

I am 121lbs 5'3 @ 11% bodyfat.
