Hello Everyone,
Have been around for a few months now. A formal introduction is anyways due.

I am 36 yr old, male. Married, and father of a sweet little girl of 3 yrs.
Have been into karate in my teens. Dropped out. Took to weight training after graduation. Migrated to body weight exercises a few months ago.

I have some equipement at home. A pull up bar, a parallette dip station, a home-made medicine ball, and a home made kettle bell. Also not to forget my ring training "chains".

Well but you can add cool avatars and stuff and unless you are viewing the site from a 300 X 400 screen this shoud be no problem with the text since the font is pretty small anyway the max size should be 256 X 320 or smth

Sure, here I go.
The medicineball was made using a basketball. Made a small L-shaped cut on the ball. Filled it with sand to the brim and sealed it with SuperGlue.
It weighs around 11 Kg (more than 22Lbs). Tough to handle in the begining, but now I used to it.
Here is a pic of my M-Ball. Click on the image for a bigger picture and you can see the "L" cut that I had made.

I had a pair of adjustible dumbbells. Converted one of them into a KettleBell. I dont have a pic right now, but will post one soon. Here is how I did it. The handle of the DB was a plastic sleeve on the irion rod. Removed it and slided the plates in. Then with the help of a local welder, made a semicircular handle with a steel pipe. Fixed the handle on the DBell rod and fixed the locks in place. Kind of difficult to understand in words. My picture will tell you the story.

why would anyone in thier right mind make kettlebels out of dumbells?

A very intelligent question. Here are my answers
1. I wanted to train with KettleBells.
2. KettleBells are not available out here for purchase. (Ironically they are manufactured in bulk somewhere in the North and exported to Europe/US, by a, one and only manufacturer as far as I know).

I hope this answers your question.

Erm I don't get ya...
why do all thoose wierd setups for doing bodyweight bench presses when you can do pushups?

The flyes is what you should do if any and that's an awesoem idea

The biceps curl is errm... you dont really need chains for it you can do bicep pullups by having your lats locked in and movign with the biceps pretty effective although I prefer doing pullups off the bet...

for rows you could also use a bunch of sturdy chairs and not bother with the complicated setup

Just do a bunch of handstand pushups ( VERY IMPORTANT for BW trainers that dont train thier side delts ) or bent pushups
a bunch of dips and one arm pushups
rows or pandelum pullups if you can tick that off
regualr pullups
and a bunch of one legged squats and heavy forniture or isometric DLS I duno

the narrower your grip the more you work your arms (Biceps \ triceps \ brachiles) the wider the more you work your torso muscles ( chest back delts)

should work fine , stick to the basics

Hi,

just found this board.

There's a variation of BW flyes that has the mount points about an arm span's apart and the chains each about 1.5 arm's length.

When you close the flye it doesn't lock out (and get easier) but it requires
(depending on the mount points and chain length) about an even torque and feels like cable flyes with the weight stacks.

They are a great move regardless.
