Hey, I've been reading through the forum and found a lot of interesting things.

I'm pretty new to bodyweight training, I started doing hindu pushups and hindu squats as motocross endurance training (saw them on some website) and I loved it! So now I pretty much stopped using weights altogheter and I want to work with bodyweight only.

So my question..might sound a little dumb but I'm curious. How many reps should I do of each excersise before moving to something harder??

For example, I can easily do 40+ pushups, or hindu pushups

Can easily do 30 knuckle pushups, 30 inclined pushups, etc...

I want to work up to doing handstand pushups consistenly (I can do 1...maaaaybe 2) and one hand pushups (can`t do any), etc

What I'm trying to ask is...should I keep doing pushups till I can do a 100 or so? I mean...I have done a max of 65 hindu pushups but I was pretty DEAD afterwards, and that doesn't really feel that good. Should I just do 20 or 30 of each excersise and try more variations?

Please help

Thanks in advance! eldus

i dont think u have to get 100 pushups in order to do 1-hand pushups or handstand pushups.
i can only do 50 pushups but i can do 20 handstand pushups and 6 1-hand pushups .
if u want to be able to do 1-hand or handstand pushups u should train them instead of pushups..

It all depends on your goal.

If want to be able to do 100 pushups than work toward that. We have a program for that actually. On the other hand if you want pure strength, than working toward one arm pushup, handstand pushup and planche makes more sence. Those of coarse must be balanced by pulling movements, that is why we have levels for a complete total body workout on each level.

Let us know.
