.......

I did Hindu Squats for the first ever time two days ago. I did around 100, nothing big, just to get used to them and not completely kill myself.

BUT I AM IN THE WORST PAIN IN MY LEGS I HAVE EVER HAD FROM A WORKOUT!!!

And I have to run a mile in P.E. tomorrow....

yeah I had my legs sore after doign tabata too , legs are made for endurance in most people so that's the way to train them to be effective , unless you are some sprinter or powerlifter

I was happy as hell in p.e. as we did two stretches we are tested in instead of the mile.

And my legs are still sore after taking Ibuprofen in the morning and tonight. It barley dulls the pain.

I have to say though, now I love Hindu Squats.

(and pain as in in my quads, not my knee's)

Did you test your sit and reach in gym istead of running the mile?

O. I didn't know they tested the other one.....at first I couldn't reach and grab my hand the other way but with about 5 days of doing that stretch I could go both ways 8)

Why do hindu squats leave so much soreness compared to normal deep squats anyway? Is it extra stretch cuz that's what i feel when i do em.

Hindu squats = 1/3 of my lower body workout.

EXCELLENT exercise for kicking power.

I prefer standard squats and latrine squats over hindu squats. Never understood the hyping behind these hindu push-ups and squats promoted by some overweight guy. I think his name was Matt Furey...

I don't understand why people work legs with BW after all squats with a barbell are like BW squats only loaded = better if your not obese and frail only ply lunges and one legged squts are good with BW

true the weightless squats are usually used by the ladys who want nice asses :-D  but it would be more of endurance.....

yeah, a lot of people dont like him but his books are loaded with great stuff. people say that he looks fat on the videos but he's all muscle in person. no matter, his books are good.

nah weighted ones can give better endurance. I know that Rickey Dale Crain (hall of fame powerlifter) decided to do a lot of mountian hiking when he retired. He developed a squat endurance routine that is just nasty brutal. it goes something along the lines of....

45 lbs. x 100
50 lbs. x 95
55 lbs. x 90
60 lbs. x 85

and so on and so on until you cannot get the reps in.

I started doing these things and find them a whole lot better than BW squats.
