Has anyone used unusual objects in conjunction or as it's own workout? I'm talking kettlebells, clubbells, sandbags, punching bags, etc.?
I do a stand alone workout with just my punching bag. I take it to the local track, behind the bleachers. I kickbox it for one minute, climb up the back of the bleachers and run down one side, go down four sets of steps, run down the other side and leap off into a roll, do a max set of zercher sandbag jump squats to zercher sandbag squats, a max set of push presses, do a max set of alternate grip L sit sternum pullups, followed by one arm push up burnout down to pushups, then pushups on knees, then I punch the punching bag for one minute, then throw the punching bag about for a little while, and I repeat for a total of 3 sets.
I do this 3 times a week now. I like unusual objects because just like in real life, the weight is not evenly distributed on each side. I have a pair of plastic bats filled with quikcrete I use as clubbells, and I use a towel grip on all my dumbbell excercises for kettlebells. I have a 80 pound sandbag, and my punching bag weighs about 110 lbs. These unusual objects are hard to grip, work stabilizers, and can give you a tough workout while still being cheap.
