when ever i use the wheel i get twinges in my lower back how do i protect it during the rollout ,also are there any muscles i should strengthen to protect my back

hmmm. idk but do some pull ups, deadlifts, and hyper extensions for the back

i do all of those i didn't mean to strengthen my back, i wanted ways to protect it when doing janknifes with the wheel, i'm not making sense cause i';m really tired cuz i'm sick

Dylan,
If you engage your hip flexors too much you can get back pain.
To prevent that - contract your bottock muscle as you do that exercise.
Also keep your abdominals very tight and naval pulled into the spine.

Strech your hip flexors after every workout.

Hold your breath in your stomach and keep your abs braced. Don't suck your abs or distend them. Just brace it.

After a few reps I did but it's still not perfect because i need to practice doing them this way.
