View Full Version : Leg over reverse crunch vs regular reverse crunch.
You must try this one.
I was trying to figure out why it's on more advanced level. Just a leg over the other leg. It's more difficult. Hits the same muscles, but you can do only 2/3 of the reps you can do on regular reverse crunch.
I guess, the hip flexors and abdominals are now fighting the glutes of the other leg. More resistance. It's also good for flexibility.
That exercise prevents the "kicking up" of the legs. When you do the regular reverse crunch you can use the leg swings for momentum.
You can't do that with leg over one. More controlled movement is always more difficult.

A well trained person can control either movement. It's just that leg over one forces more control and slower speed, which adds difficulty too.
