View Full Version : How I doubled my pull ups in one shot. Sort of.
I found a bar this morning. It's exactly the height of me with my arms extended up. I took a bar and my feet were still on the ground.
I pressed up as much as I could (static shoulder press) and than I did a pull up. After the pull up I returned my feet to the ground.
I kept doing it. Press, pull, press pull.
7 pull ups usually- today 14.

Rest tomorrow,
I am very curious to see how many you would be able to do on Thursday.
That's the only way to know if your experiment worked.

So basicly you warmed up for it?
well if it's what you wrote it is prapare to be sore tml...
You just made the pulling muscle relax, but activating the pushing muscles.
Sore is right, Koltz.
I don't know if this will help you to improve one time that you did it, like sidearm1 said, but do it for a week every other day or so. After that post back here, if you were able to gain more reps.
Woke up an hour ago.
My arms are alright, my back is as sore as it ever been.
Don't think I will be ready to test my pull ups tomorrow, guys.
Hopefully on friday.
That's what happens when you do something new or trick your muscles.

Not clear if u were doing one at a time pull ups.
In
Did you allow your jump to carry you up with momentum?

I added about one and half rep. That's more than 8.
I would do this once a week. If it keept going like that, after a year I should add over 50 pull ups lol.
I am just afrait that it would take too many days to recover and I would have to miss my workout.

I think if you want to add more pullups you should (once you reach a higher number) once every fewer reps.
maybe even get a timer and try to accomplish 50 in the least amount of time (unlike burpees form on pullups is important so watch it 50 half reps are much easier then even 15 full)

I reread this post a few times, I am lost.

getting lsot in 3 lines is erm... special
try to do the following:
*get a timer do 50 pullups in an X amount of tuime next workout try to beat yuor record , ofcource do them with good form and about the same temp
*instead of getting of the bar every rep like you did in your first post do two reps then get of it.

you were able to do more, because you were resting the pull-muscles in between reps
