View Full Version : How often to rest.

So far I heard conflicting things from people.
Some say that you should rest one week out of every month.
Some say half week is good enough. Some say take two weeks off every 3 months.

I do know for sure that a breat is important. Just don't know exactly when.

Just wondering what your oppinion is from your own experience.
Does everyone has an individual rest interval needs, does it depends on the type and intensity of the work outs?

Thanks.

I think it depends on how your body feels....and what works best for you.

I heard of something like that.
If you are a pro-athlete, they will check everyone of your physiological functions and tell you when to work out and when to rest.
If you are a regular guy, and you know that you have been training for a while, don't be afraight to take a day off.
If you have been training long enough you know when you need time off and when you are just lazy.

do whatever your routine and goals take , you might notice that a person that's aerobically super conditioned all over his body along with a history of training can often train even 4 hours a day without needing any recovery at all except for once a week...

other people might b sore for more then 2 days after a regular medium intensity routine
others might get fatiuge etc doesn't always mean soreness

the keys for fast recovery are first using it , in other words gradulay increacign volume and frequency
secund one is doing streches contrast bathes and all that stuff that helps and supplemnts
and 3rd is a cardiovasuclar base on that given muscle group, when overtrained heart rate goes up to pump more blood (unless the heart is damaged from running that way it needs to go up for pumping the same amount)having a bigger heart and wider capilaries around your muscles and nerves make repairs go faster , and the differance is that we can see gymnasts doing ring strength for 6 hours a day 6 days a week o_O
