Welcome to Body Weight Culture!

This site was created for you by a group of fitness, health and nutrition experts. Ready to land a helping hand whenever you have a question on how to better your body.

The reason? It's simple...For decades we have witnessed people trying to get stronger using only the resistance of their own bodies. At parks, play grounds, gymnasiums, in physical education classes, military, and at home, millions of people rely on their body weight to get in shape.

Your body weight is a piece of equipment that can always be taken with you. We applaud your choice. It’s just that most people are not exposed to a variety of body weight exercises. Most people do hundreds of push ups, neglecting other muscles. Squats, sit-ups, chin ups, dips are an average body weight work out. Without knowing the body and exercise science it is difficult to put together a sensible body weight work out, which would target all the major muscles groups.

Great news! We did it for you. We have experimented, tested and finally designed 20 levels of body weight resistance routines. Starting from the very basic and leading up to very advanced. Every routine includes major upper body, lower body, and midsection exercises. (http://bodyweightculture.com/forum/vbarticles.php?do=category&categoryid=1)

Many exercises are new. These are the result of over a hundred years of our combined experience as trainers, coaches, teachers, and instructors. Every routine is balanced for its own level.

Dozens and dozens of body weight exercises were sorted into 20 progressive levels based on performance of experienced and inexperienced students.Number of repetitions, quality of technique, pace, economy of motion, easiness of mastery was some of the factors that we used to decide where each exercise was placed.

And the best part is that it’s FREE. All exercise routines are completely free! So register to our forum today and be on your way to a better body.

Calisthenic, in America, means exercises using only one's bodyweight without any other (or minimal) equipment. Basically everything this site is about.

Very refreshing! I have been looking for something like this for awhile. As a trainer and athlete (Scottish Heavy Athletics), to be able to break out of the gym and still have a great workout puts a huge smile on my face.

I second all that. I found this site many months ago and still I learn something new and creative every time I visit.

Do you have any recommendations for approximately how long it "should" take to move through each level, or the most efficient way to move through the levels....i am starting at the beginning... I currently run 5-8 miles 3 times a week and am running a half marathon in 4 weeks, I am working on pull-ups and dips right now with an assist machine...

Thanks.

the harder the level the longer it takes basically ,
since your further off your starting point according to the diminishing gains law

(that means thats unless your in awefull shape like after a diet that took years , ate too much phytoestrogens , was sick etc and your at level 1-7 your fucked strength:weight wise)
