View Full Version : How do you call that exercise?

I am wondering if anyone knows the name of this exercise?

Basically you hang from the bar. Than you lift the legs and do the pull up at the same time. You put your stomach on the bar and trun back.
You end up in the dip positon your arms are straigh and the bar is next to your stomach. Your body is vertical. Like you are about to do a dip on the pull up bar.

So, does that exercise has a name?

I know what you are talking about.
I heard a name "High Sun" somewhere. I thought that was it. Than I tried to google the name and it did not come up.

Green,
when you get out from that position; do you go straigh down to a vertical hang or do you roll forward around the bar?

front lever I think

I think the front level is when you hang with your body straight and parallel to the floor.

Its a basic level gymnastics high bar technique - Ive used it myself many a time in parkour when my arms are to tired to do muscleups when climbing scaffolding.

you can also rotate forwards once you are in the dip (support) position and it will reverse the motion - leaving you in a dead hang.

its fun to combine this technique with the muscleup and the L sit in some random sequences on a suitable bar/branch... usualy looks fairly impressive to people - more so with a few clapping pullups thrown in

Perhaps build up a simple gymnastics high bar routine to practice as a "rep".... would be really good for improving the old pullups.

Here is a thought.
You do that move and you end up in sort of dip position above the bar.
Than instead of reversing, you do a negative muscle up and you keep doing it like that.
Would that help with muscle up?
