hello everyone. I just registered to the forum.

My name is Luey and I am new to bw exercises so I am here to learn.
My main goal is to lose fat and keep it off for good. At 40 years old I have become the couch potato I swore I never be, but family, work and plain laziness got me at 225lbs.
I have been training with a kettlebell for the last month or so and I think I can use some variety in my workouts. I am now down to 212.5lbs and 33% bodyfat. My goal is to be down to 190lbs and around 10% BF.
I weigh in on Saturdays since it is more conviniante for me and this week I want to be at 210.
All help and encouragment is appreciated.;-)

See you around.

I feel your pain... I too have Xtra weight I want to lose, and understand how much time and effort it takes to fulfill work and family obligations. Also, I too am relatively new to the forum. Over the past four months or so I started consentrating on my diet and exercise routine and lost about 30 pounds.
For me the diet habits was the worst part! I LOVE FOOD! However, I have managed to overcome most of the bad habits. And now if it is in a box, bag, or wrapper I do not eat it.

For variety in workouts I use the "Karl Gotch Bible" which is using a deck of cards to determine the number of reps, and excercises to do throughout the workout based on the numerical value of the card until the deck is finished.

I also use a kettlebell, and just started doing Tabatas. Hopefully this website can help you. It has helped me already to learn variations and types of many exercises. Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome.
30lbs in 4 months, that is very good!
I love food myself, I have to say I have come a long way in my eating habits. About 20 years a go or so, my dad was told he had really high bad cholesterol, I was still living at home when that happened and my dad had a hell of a time trying to change the way he ate and he was miserable. I promesed myself I was not going to have the same issues, so I started watching what I ate. My problem was that I eat a lot of food, even if it is not the fried up tuff it still puts extra calories in me and my body likes to store it.
Now, I am trying to cut sugar and alcohol out of my diet, this is hard, and for me they come together, when I drink I like to have something sweet with it, like chocolate cake or something like that.

Welcome Little Luey! Kettlebells are a great tool, I have a couple of them myself. A high-intensity circuit of KB moves, bodyweight exercises and sprints burns off tons of calories.
