Hello,
My name is Tim, I am 30, and I have been flirting with bodyweight execise for a few years now. At this point in my life I am noticing that my fitness level is decreasing, and for the past few months I have been working out on a more routine basis. My goal is to make bodyweight exercise a life long , and routine habit. I currently weigh 230# my goal is to be a ripped 190#. Any suggestions on how to improve will be welcomed.8) "Be like a postage stamp. Stick to one thing until you get there."

Hey Tim, welcome to BWC!!

Check out the line in my sig that says Balanced BW Routine. Drop the reps in it and increase the sets.

Or you could try the prison burpee challenge, that will definitely do it. :D

Sounds to me like you just need to take your training to the next level. If your not training with, or at least training for, one armed/legged exercises. This will lower your reps, but in a good way. One armed/legged exercises are serious strength gainers also. After I started training with one arm push ups, my max bench went up 50lbs in 3 weeks. I haven't lifted weights in at least 2 years, but I like to test my strength at my brother-in-law's. But seriously if you feel like your decreasing, then you need to find what the next level is and go for it.

I have searched this sight and found some info on the Tabata Method. I have a partial understanding . . . Like, I know it is 20 seconds of balls to the wall of a multi major muscle group excercise, 10 second rest, and repeat 7 more times. But, is it meant to be supplemental to my current workout routine? Done by itslef?(the only workout of the day) If it is supplemental should it be performed before or after the routine workout?

Your insight on this mystery of mine will be put to great use.

If you are a beginner a tabata workout is about all you could do for the day. If you have built up a higher work capacity you could do 4-8 minutes of tabata as a finisher after a strength workout.
