Hey fellows, I just wanted to throw in a little smoke session we had dealt to us troops back in the day. I don't remember why, but I'll never forget this:

Low Crawl 100 meters
10 Push ups
High Crawl Back(100 meters)
10 Push ups
Bear Crawl 100m
10 Push ups
Crab Walk Back(100m)
10 Push ups
Bear Crawl 100m
10 Push ups
3 to 5 second buddy rush back( I'm up, they see me, I'm down)
10 Push ups
Low Crawl 100m
10 Push ups
High Crawl Back
10 Push ups

Out of all the smoke session we ever had, this one was shear H#LL. This was done after PT(Physical Training) and Breakfast. If you want to work muscle you never knew you had, give this a shot.

Works arms alot, core for stability and some legs. Sounds good. Especially all of the crawling...hehe not really. Sounds painful actually.

It was horrible at the time, but 40 other soldier doing it with you makes it kind of fun. What's bad is 1 person caused it.

When high-volume, simple bwe is involved it's almost always more fun/entertaining to do it as a group it seems. :)

with gear on?

wow.

Seemingly all military fitness tests/programs are done with full battle gear. Pretty impressive...anyone know how much full gear weighs on average? say 60-100 pounds? Just guessing-?

Body Armor w/2 plates weighs around 45lbs.
Tactical vest w/2 1qt canteens(full) about 5
Kevlar(helmet) No more than 4 pounds, probably less

That's is what we were smoked in.
Over seas we wore this in addition to
Rucksack 45lbs when properly packed w/essentials
4 loaded magazines about 4lbs added to your vest
m4 carbine about 7lbs
for night operations you can another 1lb to you kevlar w/ night vision goggles.

Then if your a medic, like me, an additional aid bag properly packed is anywhere from 15 to 25lbs

Communication guys also have a radio that's about 20 to 25 lbs

Needless to say, If your not fit by the time your over seas, foot patrols are not the funnest thing you'd rather be doing.

what are low crawls and high crawls?

Most people refer to high crawls as an army crawl, being up on your elbows and keeping your body low as you move. In a low crawl, you are literally dragging your head in the dirt. Your body is as flat as possible and your pulling yourself along the ground like doing a pull up. As your pulling yourself, you also kick off with one leg and drag the other. No part of your body leaves the ground. These are some of the movements that help us move without getting shot when under fire. If you need more clarification you can always google it or watch a vid on youtube.
