I have actually been a member of this for a few months, silently, so Im not sure how new I can still consider myself. I finally decided to post a hello and introduction. My name is Cory and I live in the St. Louis Missouri area. I started weight training when I was 21 years old in the Police Academy and had, what I thought were good results. I have never been a believer in cardio work until recently, which Ill explain further.

I trained with weights until my now wife and I began living together, when I was about 28. After that my workouts consisted more of curling the tv remote and piling in the chips and pizza.

After my little girl was born, approximatley two years ago, my wife and I decided that we needed to drop some pounds and get into shape. We both have lost about 30 pounds and I am now 5'8" and 170 lbs. I started taking Taekwondo about a year ago and have achieved my yellow belt, and love every minute of it. I have also started doing random BW workouts, making them up as I go. I then discovered this site and have been periodally stealing, umm borrowing routines from all of your great minds.

Last night I got to sparr for the first time in TKD against an 18 year old blue belt and I realized how out of shape Im in, and for the first time realized the importance of cardio endurance training!!!!!! Today I borrowed Erik's circuit training and couldnt make it 3/4 through it. Needless to say I have revamped my fitness goals to lean more toward endurance first and strength second. I appreciate all the help everyone has been on this site, and hope to advance myself through the experience of all of you. I always appreciate advise and and guidance.

If I have been unclear or not descriptive enough, I apologize. I have never been very good at posting anything, which is why it has taken me so long to post this.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum! TKD is a lot of fun, that's how I first started my life long interest in fitness and health. To be able to do those rounds of intense sparring you need to do soem hard anaerobic training at least a couple of times a week. Do a search for TABATA and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).

Its awesome to see that you are getting back into the healthy life. Hey you could still watch TV but do push ups while you do it. Do handstands against the wall. Just anything to prepare your body.
