Hi all,
The name is Scott and I came across BWC ages ago, but have since fallen out of practice. I've always liked the idea of being able to use your own bodyweight as the most effective workout method. Personally I don't like gym work, and if possible tended to avoid it.
I find myself in a situation where I have to reach a certain level of fitness relatively quickly. I'm just looked for some general advice regarding the following:
- Building arms, shoulders and chest (so far I've been doing pushups, but it's been so long I can only do the beginners. That is, from my knees).
- Improving my sit ups. I've been nervous to do this, mainly because I injured my back some months ago. I tore some ligaments whilst at a gym, and it took me months to get rid of the pain. Any back strengthening exercises would also be appreciated, again whilst I no longer suffer from any back pain I am naturally reticent to to anything arduous with my back.
- Cardio. I hate cardio with a passion. I wont lie. But it's necessary to keep my weight under control. I'm 6'4 and 94kg. I have no idea what the normal weight range is for my height.
I've been trying situps and basic pushups. So my real question would be is this sufficient? I'm looking to get fit quick, so is there anything else I can do?
Any help you be appreciated.
Cheers,
Scott.
