Hey all, stumbled on this site and Wow...a whole different world of fitness training.
A bit about me...I am 33 years old 6'2" and weigh in at 209 lbs. Currently can do 25 pushups untill I fail, 45 crunchs and can get out 1 and a bit of a dead hang pullup.
I find it difficult to run for any length of time and it is a long way to the nearest gym. I am currently employed as a house husband and have to work around a one year old.
I am needing to lean out a bit and gain some strength. I would love any help that you guys could offer.
Regards,
Jason

Welcome rabbs, tons of info to discover here. Stick with the basics in the beginning, pushups are good, try lunges or prisoner squats, these will get your metabolism up, don't give up on the pullups, as frustrating as it can be keep trying. Trade in your crunches for planks, or supermans. Check out the search button, or video button for descriptions, youtube is also a good source. Check out what others are doing in their logs.

a quick tip! Try greasing the groove with pull-ups - every hour or so, go up to the bar and 2 do negatives (downward bit of the pullup) or 1 full pull-up.
welcome to BWC!

I am not a runner at all, however, I was able to go out and outperform a bunch of guys and gals training for a marathon one night, after never running more than 1km. We did 12km that night in intervals, and I beat them all by a mile (except one really fit dude) Two words: Hindu squats.
Try 'em out!

Thanks guys, it's been 5 days now and I am astounded at my progression. From my 1 and bit deadhang pullup I can now crank out three sets of three, have increased my max push ups and started doing planks.
Hindu squats took a while to get the right form, but I am progressing. I am skipping for a couple of mins. before I start BWE.
I want to thank all the guys here for the wealth of infomation on this site, and I will keep on keeping on. :)
Regards,
Jason.

Just an update....It's been almost two months now and my progression has slowed somewhat. I can now max out at 10 pull ups and 50 push ups.
Have started running, jogging mostly but two days a week doing sprints. Being by myself I am finding that the biggest struggle now is motivation. This site helps a lot with that but sometimes I find that it is not quite enough.
I guess that I just have to harden up in both mind and body :)

You've made great progress!
It sounds like your body has gotten used to your program. It happens sooner or later to everyone. The best thing for you right now would be to take a few days off and start a new program, using variations of what you were doing before and/or switch from endurance training to strength training or vise-versa. There a tons of things you can change.

Thanks for the tip, compared to what I was like two months ago there is no way I am going back there.
Thanks again for the advice.

Maybe is it time for you to enter hell, namly burpees... the will increase plenty of things, especially the prisonner and 100 in 10 challenges.
