hey guys, i need to know how to get wider...even wider in my torso...how can i do this...

Heavy cleans, wide grip deads and pullups, handstand pushups should do the trick

im not trying to be a smartass but the question kind of comes off like this...what else besides traps does handstand pushups do?

front deltoid, tricep + serratus anterior muscle.

The exercises Dave recommended are good, but there is one thing that is more important..

Like a horse.. Whole milk, red meat, whole eggs, lots of starch if you're very skinny.. but NO processed, sweetened, sugary food. Just good whole food. Just cos you're eating tons doesn't mean you have to eat a ton of rubbish! =]

handstand pushups do not work the traps, their just so good that the traps are used. They are a press so shoulders and triceps are primarily it. And this exercise gets you wide, trust me, that as well as wide grip pullups.
These two are the best. THen eat.

get yourself in a chin up position, and just use your shoulders too pull yourself up a couple inches, not bending your elbows. 10 reps gets hard. you can do the same from a pull up position.

usin weights, lay perpindicular to a flat bench, and rest so the bottom of your neck to almost middle back is touchin the bench, with your neck hangin over. hold a single or pair of dumbbells, and with your arms straight let the weights take your armsover your head in an arc, and pull them back up along the line. make sure you keep your shoulders and tris as uninvolved as possible. the exercise emphasises the serratus and chest muscle

pull ups help give mass to the lats, and i feel if you do a chin up and focus on usin the lats it helps the lengthen, or at least stretches them.

a combination of lats, chest, and serratus will help you appear wider. also, a lean waist help. try go through as much of the day as you can with you gut sucked in.
