Hey All.
I searched and couldn't find if anybody had a thread on this. I've been looking at videos from some websites, such as Ross Emanaits and Joe Defranco's website. I've seen them do a lot of work with flipping really big tires. Wondering if anybody here has had any experience with doing these.
Also where did anybody who has one get them?

hmm... Well it's almost Halloween time and there are usually haunted hayrides (with tractors) or pumpkin patches (with tractors) so you could ask around there
also with a little help from google I found this http://www.tiretown.com/rearfarm.htm
I say your best bet would be used
But there is more than one way to skin a cat. I would personally just use a sandbag

Thanks Fenderuser93,
if anybody else has any experience with these, your input would be helpful.
Also if i were to get one, what weight would be a good weight to start out at? I saw some tires in videos ranging from 200-800 lbs!

Hey Bro,
Its funny that you bring up this subject because I came to BWC looking for healthier options for my joints. I have 17 years of serious competitive power lifting and bodybuilding under my belt and came here looking for a smarter way to train as I get older. I can say that tire training is both challenging and cheap so give it a try.
I am surpised I am the only one here that spent his time doing weird lifts in my yard for fun. Tires of all sizes, whether for pulling or flipping, can be found free at any big truck/tractor tire shop. My tire shop begged me to take more than I got because it saved them a $75 disposal fee each. As far as training, you need to determine what your looking for. I had 3 sizes that varied from 150-200 to a 700lb tire. The movement is like doing a power clean and press from the floor. You can use the lighter for more reps to condition and the heavier for strength. I do suggest you start lighter as the biceps get a huge load on them during the flip. I have read about and also seen injuries to the bicep insertion. I had a friend lift with me a few times and we made a game out of it. Either we would flip for distance or play tire tennis and flip it back and forth to each other till one gave up. Tire tennis is actually pretty fun and will make you puke trying to beat your friend. Enjoy.....

No Problem Bro, I don't know if this is the place for lifting questions such as that....most here are Body weight only from what I read. I have done about everything in my search for variety through the years. You can try RossTraining.com and CrossFit.com and you will find the meshing of both worlds. I hope i helped.
